INDEPENDENCE DAY
On this day of 15th August, we celebrate INDEPENDENCE DAY (The Day On which India Got Freedom from British). This is one of the three national holidays the other two are for Republic day on 26 January and Gandhi
Jayanti on 2nd October all over the states and union territories of India.
On the same day of 15 August in the year 1947, India got Independence from the British Colonialism. Today India is celebrating its 74th Independence Day. On the Eve of Independence Day, the President of India delivers the "Address to the Nation" and the prime minister hoists the INDIAN FLAG on the ramparts of the Historical site of Red Fort in Delhi.
On This day the prime Minister Gives speech followed by the march past of the divisions of the Indian armed forces and paramilitary forces, also the prime minister announces the last year achievements of India,
raises important concerns and calls for further development. But this year to prevent gathering during COVID-19 all the states and the government officers have been asked to webcast their events and celebration.
Now let us discuss the story of Indian Independence. Over History, India has faced many invasions and problems and the British started to bring India under their control through a business venture. It was all started with the advent of British the East India Company. The first war of Independence in 1857, The Government act of India in 1858 led the British crown to take control over India. In The meantime, Civic society emerged across India, most notably The Indian National Congress party was formed in 1885.
Many Indian independent Movements such as the Non-Cooperation took place under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, The Jallian Wala Bagh Massacre. Also, other movements took place such as the civil disobedience Movement in 1929.
On 26th January 1930, Meetings were held all over the country and the congress tricolour was hoisted. In August 1942, Gandhiji started the 'Quit India Movement' and decided to launch a mass civil disobedience Movement 'Do or Die' call to force the British to leave India.
A Cabinet Mission was sent to India in March 1946, Which after careful study of the Indian political scenario. Proposed the formation of an Interim Government also the national assembly was formed in July 1946, to frame the constitution of India.
India got freedom at the stroke of midnight. Also, the first prime minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru gave his first speech.
The constituent assembly adopted the constitution on 27th November 1949. On 26th January 1930the constitution of India came into force and Dr. Rajendra Prasad was elected as the first President of India.
The Design of National Flag was adopted by the constituent assembly of India on 22nd July 1947. The national anthem Jana Gana Mana Was Originally composed in Bengal By Rabindranath Tagore, in its Hindi version was adopted by the constituent assembly as the national anthem of India on 24th January 1950. also, the national song and state anthem were adopted by the government of India.
73 years ago, on the same day, all the Indians took steps to become one of the largest democracies of the world, overcoming the plethora of challenges to warn global recognition. India has come to a long way since independence and still has a very long way to go
