 Interaction of people with their friends, families living across long distances have been a major concern of people and people have always anticipated communication to Strengthen their relationships. Social media acts as a parcel of communication in modern life between people all over the world. This is used when face-to-face communication is not possible between people living at far distances, sounds like social media is just developed but it also has a Quite long History. Various sites like Facebook are the outcomes of many years of social media development. Facebook was founded in the year 2004. 

 

                              

  

Have people ever imagined which type of communication methods were used before the 1900s? If no do read the complete blog. One of the earliest methods of communication included hand-written letters which were delivered by hand from one person to another. The earliest form of the postal system was in 550 B.C. The postal system was implemented on July 1, 1875, when the general postal union came into being and soon the delivery system became more widespread in future centuries. 

 

In 1830s Telegraph was invented and this machine is used for the transmission of text messages over a long distance faster than a horse and a rider carried them. Though the messages sent through telegraph were very short, that was the best way of conveying the news and information during that period. 

 

 

  

The most important discoveries during the 1800s were that of the telephone invented in 1876 and the radio invented in the year 1895 and both of these technologies are still used but in their modern versions. Telephone lines and radio signals enabled people to communicate at great distances, something which mankind had never experienced it before. 

  

By the 20th-century technologies began to change very rapidly. After the creation of first supercomputers in the 1940s, scientists and computer engineers started developing ways to create networks between the computers and this led to the birth of the internet. The earliest form of the internet was developed in the 1960s. Primeval forms of E-mail also started developing. And by the70s the networking technology had improved a lot and also in 1980s home computers commonly came into use. The first known social media was six degrees which was created in the year 1997 and it enabled the users to upload a profile and make friends with other users. 

 

  

And in the present world, we have around thousands of social media sites and some of them can be: -

So Today there are a variety of social networking sites and this creates an environment where all the users can interact with people without face-to-face communication, seems like social media will develop and exist as long as humans are alive.
