DIWALI

                                                          DIWALI

DIWALI, A Hindu festival is one of the biggest and most important holidays. This festival got its name from two words Deep (The clay pots/lamps) and avali(rows). It is the festival of prosperity and joy and we celebrate this festival as a victory of good from an Evil that is the story of Ram (King Dashrath's Eldest son) and Ravan (Demon King of Lanka).

Long ago in the city of Ayodhya, ruled a very wise and Dignified King Dashrath. He ruled along with his three Queens and Four princes. King Dashrath wanted his Eldest son Ram to rule his kingdom and Ram along with his Beautiful wife Sita lived happily along with other princes (His brothers) and their wives, but one of the king Dashrath's wife wanted his son Bharat to rule and was jealous of Ram and demanded that he be exiled to the forest for 14 years so that her son Bharat can be the king and Dashrath having once promised his wife to fulfil any of her three wishes, he Exiled Ram to the forest and Ram set of unfurling accompanied by his Loving wife Sita and his younger brother Lakshman.

A few years after their Exile, A demonist named Surpanakha saw Ram and fell for his looks and asked Ram to marry her but Ram refused and asked her to go to Lakshman but Lakshman as well refused, enraged (VERY ANGRY) Surpanakha Showed her true identity/form and Lakshman cut off her nose and Ears. The demonist went Whirling to her Brother Ravan (The demon king). Ravan was furious after knowing what was happened with his sister and with the help of another demon in the form of a golden deer, He distracted Ram and Lakshman and Abducted Sita from their Hut and when Ram and Lakshman returned, they could not find Sita and when they realised that something is Wrong, then they rushed to find Sita, on their way, they came across an army of Vanaras(Monkeys) who agreed to help them. Among them, Hanuman wanted to help Ram.

Hanuman is not an Ordinary Monkey, He could fly over the mountains and change Size at Will and had super strength and had a power to leap (Jump or spring a Long Way) across the Ocean in single stride (single step). It was Hanuman who found Sita at Ashok Brindavan near Lanka. Hanuman reassured Sita that Ram would rescue Sita soon. Soon a Great battle started between the two Armies and the soldiers of Ram managed to kill all the demons Except Ravan and now the battle was between Ram and Ravan. Ram gave a chance to Ravan to apologize and return Sita, instead, he rained down weapons on him and Ram too fought back relentlessly (Harsh way as Ravan did) but after despite all of his efforts nothing seemed to kill Ravan. He finally Got to know about Ravan's Weakest point in his Evil by his brother Vibhishan.

With the help of an Arrow given to Ram by the gods, Ram shot Ravan in the Evil and Killed instantly and after all, finally, Ram and his wife Sita got reunited. Soon after finishing their 14 years of Exile, Ram along with Sita and Lakshman returned to his kingdom with people in Ayodhya waiting for them. Everything was decorated so beautifully with flowers and Lamps and everyone was full of happiness and this the reason every year Diwali is celebrated and the houses are decorated with lights and flowers like in Ayodhya for the return of Ram and Sita.
